Abyssal Drift
A bioluminescent survival diver where light is both currency and threat. 92% positive on Steam.
NanoQuestCore is a Fitzroy-based studio crafting original titles, co-development builds, and competitive esports programs. From bioluminescent worlds to frame-perfect netcode, we ship games players lose sleep over.

The studio
We started NanoQuestCore in a Fitzroy warehouse with two engineers, a synth, and a stubborn idea: that Australian studios could ship world-class games without leaving Melbourne.
Today we run three pods — original IP, client co-dev, and esports — out of the same Greeves Street floor. Every project passes through our in-house lighting rig, where we tune the teal-and-black look our players know us for.

Two owned franchises in active development, self-published on Steam and console with full narrative, art, and audio built in-house.

We embed with studios in Melbourne, Sydney, and abroad to rescue schedules, rebuild engines, and harden multiplayer before launch.

Coaching, VOD review, and tournament ops for competitive teams playing out of our Fitzroy training room three nights a week.

Questions
Yes. Roughly half our co-dev clients are in Sydney, Brisbane, and overseas. We run hybrid — most collaboration is remote, with milestone weeks on-site in Fitzroy or at your studio. Timezone overlap is written into every contract.
The team is deepest in Unreal Engine 5 and Unity, and we maintain an in-house C++ toolchain for netcode and tooling. For original IP we choose the engine per project rather than forcing a house standard.
Fixed-scope work is quoted after a free scoping call and billed in milestones. Retainers are monthly with a three-month minimum. All figures are in Australian dollars and exclude GST, which we itemise on every invoice.
Absolutely. We sign mutual NDAs as a matter of course before any brief is discussed, and we keep client IP fully separated from our original titles. Ask for our standard NDA and we will have it back to you the same day.
Frequently. Our co-dev pod exists to rescue slipping schedules and broken builds. We start with a two-week technical audit, then give you an honest call on scope, cost, and whether a rebuild beats a patch.
The Greeves Street studio runs Monday to Friday, 9:30am–6:00pm AEST, with esports training Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings until 9pm. Visits are by appointment so we can clear a desk and a decent coffee for you.
